Sustaining and nurturing aquatic food systems for people all over the world.
Big Challenges
2 to 3 billion people around the world suffer from micronutrient deficiencies that compromise physical and cognitive development.
Seafood offers valuable micronutrients but 67% of the world’s fish stocks are either overfished or at limit.
As much as 47% of seafood imported into the U.S. is wasted.
Cold chain is major issues - 35% of seafood transported by air carrier had higher temps than recommended (-1 C)
As much as 20% of sampled seafood had been mislabeled due to human error or fraud.
Lack of transparency into global fisheries has led to widespread human trafficking, forced labor, document fraud, and tax evasion, among other crimes.
We're developing a platform that benefit disadvantaged communities and children like this access to the nutrition and clean water they need while protecting ecosystem health and increasing local economic opportunities.

The Green Reef Foundation involves and aligns public, private, and academic stakeholders in the planning, design, and implementation of sustainable supply chains fusing complementary objectives of ecological, economic and social health.
